Saw this today. Looks like it’s a Ford, but I don’t recognize anything else about it...

It’s not an E34 M5, I can guarantee that.

Might as well be considering how bad I am at identifying cars.

If you’re that bad at identifying cars, then that might be a perfect analogy for how bad I am with girls.

second-gen Capri, 76-77
A Ford import from Germany, sold here as a Mercury. After 78 they dropped it and replaced it with a rebadged Fox Mustang. Boo.
The Capri is the REAL Mustang II
They should’ve done it like this:
64-68 Mustang
69-74 Mustang II (would be the German Capri)
75-80s Mustang III (second-gen German Capri)
late 80s Mustang IV (Probe or Sierra/Merkur
)
Mid-90s Mustang V (second-gen Probe or Australian Capri)
late 90s Mustang VI (New Edge Cougar)

Ford Consul coupe.

No, its a Consul, the cheaper variant of the Gra nada. One size up from the Capri.

I think that's a hedge but I may be mistaken

Have you tried discussing E34 M5s with them?
